A profile page is a public page for one person, reached by an opaque link or a QR code. No login, nothing to install. You control what appears on it, how it is branded, and whether it acts as a verifiable credential. It is the answer to “how does someone check this ID is real?” without giving anyone access to your roster.
Profile pages are available on all plans. Removing CaptrID branding requires Business or above. The wallet-pass barcode that links to a profile needs Pro or above, since it depends on Digital Cards.

The three pieces

Step 1: Brand your hosted pages

Go to Organisation Settings → Branding.
  • Primary colour — your main brand colour, used for the header band
  • Secondary colour — the accent for headings and highlights (optional)
  • Logo — your full wordmark. A transparent PNG works best
  • Icon — a square mark, used where a wordmark will not fit
Set this once and it applies to every profile page and verification page your organisation issues.
On Business and above you can switch off the CaptrID footer entirely for fully white-label pages. On other plans the page carries a small “Secured by CaptrID” footer.

Step 2: Create a profile template

Go to Credentials → Profile Pages → New template.

Persona

Student, Staff, Member or Generic. This sets the vocabulary on the page and decides which templates are recommended when you assign one to a list. It is independent of the page type.

Page type

This is the important choice, and it depends on what data you actually hold.
An Enrolment page needs enrolment data. If your list comes from a directory or was imported manually, there are no courses to group, so use Field list instead.

Choosing fields (Field list only)

Pick the source list under Fields from, then tick the fields to publish. Set which field or fields form the person’s name, and whether the layout is stacked or inline.
This page is public. Anyone with the link can see everything on it.Publish card-safe fields only — the sort of thing already printed on the front of an ID card. No date of birth, no email address, no phone number, no USI. The editor says the same thing next to the field picker, and it is worth repeating here: a profile page is a public artefact, not an internal record.

Style

Header alignment and whether it shows your logo or icon, heading colour, card background, body text colour, and the photo shape. There is a live preview, so you can see the result as you go.

Enrolment display options

For enrolment pages:
  • Show cancelled enrolments — off by default, so cancelled courses stay off the public page
  • Upcoming under Currently studying — off by default, so upcoming courses appear under Other enrolments instead
Both default to the quieter option deliberately: a page showing someone’s cancelled courses to anyone with the link is rarely what you want.

Step 3: Turn on verification (optional)

Toggle Show verification in the template and the page gains an authenticity strip: who issued it, whether it is currently active, and when it was checked. The strip is driven by the person’s active status on your roster. Deactivate someone and their page shows Revoked immediately — no reissue, no expiry to wait for.
Two different verifications, which is worth keeping straight:
  • /p/ — the profile page verifies the person: are they currently active on the roster?
  • /v/ — the verify page verifies a specific digital card: is this pass still valid?
They answer different questions. A person can be active while an individual card has been revoked.

Step 4: Assign a template to a list

Open a Master List → Settings tab → Credential TemplatesProfile templateChange. Templates matching the list’s persona are marked Recommended. You can also choose Organisation default so the list inherits whatever the default is. To set a default, use Set as organisation default inside the template. Any list without its own template uses it.
Most organisations end up with two templates: one for students, one for staff. Set the student one as the organisation default and assign the staff template explicitly to staff lists.

Co-branding

Where a person’s record came from a synced system, the page can carry a “Powered by” line naming that source — for example an aXcelerate wordmark on a page built from an aXcelerate list. This is on by default and can be switched off per organisation.

What a profile page is not

  • Not a login. There are no accounts and no sign-in. The link is the credential, so treat it accordingly.
  • Not searchable. Links are opaque and are not listed or indexed anywhere. Someone needs the link or the QR code.
  • Not a record of everything you hold. It shows only what the template publishes — which should be the card-safe subset.

Digital Cards

Apple and Google Wallet passes, which can carry a QR to the profile page
